MUST Ranked Second Best Academic Perfoming University in Uganda

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has yet again been ranked the second best academic performing University in Uganda. This has been confirmed by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP), a non-profit organisation that developed a ranking system for world universities based academic performance indicators that reflect quality and the quantity of their scholarly publications.

Indicators for consideration include

  • The measure of current scientific productivity which includes articles published in journals that are listed within the first, second and third quartiles in terms of their Journal Impact Factor;
  • Research impact and scored according to the total number of citations of research generated by the university;
  • Sustainability and continuity of scientific productivity and presented by the total document count which covers all scholarly output of the institutions, including conference papers, reviews, letters, discussions, scripts in addition to journal articles published;
  • International collaboration data, which is based on the total number of articles published in collaboration with foreign universities
